Active ingredients

Assalamualaykum wbt.
May all of you safe and sound under His Mercy.

Do you enjoy cooking?

I'm sure some of you must be a great cook.

If you ask any professional chef or even you own mom-which is also my best chef ever as i just love everything my mom's made-there must be a secret behind it.

Believe me, they must have something different that make the food unique when you taste it.

Okay, that's about the taste. What about the things that make the food looks different compared to when it was prepared?

For example if you're baking a cake, you'll see it yourself : before-it is just a mixture of things in thick-liquid form. After- you even can cut it into slices! (^_^)

(OK,it probably wasn't that amazing to you to see it transformed, but it may be a great new things for the chemist/physicist hundreds years ago to discover!)

Alright, my point here is: in every single thing we do, there must be an active ingredient.

The ingredient that would actually cause a change, even if a change in a small molecule of atom.

The same way of the active ingredients to transform a liquid into solid substance, that is how a Muslim should be.

Hassan al-Basri once said,
'You have no faith if you do nothing, because when the iman settled in your heart, it is shown in your action'.

So what is the active ingredients for a Muslim?

"O you who believe! Shall I guide you to a trade that will save you from a painful torment?
That you believe in Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad SAW) and that you strive hard and fight in the Cause of Allah with your wealth and your lives; that will be better for you, if you but know!"
(Surah As-Saff,61: 10-11)

Three active ingredients compact into two verses of the Quran.

1. Believe in Allah
2. Believe in His Messenger
3. Strive and struggle for the sake of Allah

These are the things that would 'activate' you to start to act, transforming your faith into action, translating your words into practical.

Remember about 1400 years ago, how the companions of the Prophet Muhammad SAW reacted immediately after a revelation of a verse of Quran. They immediately wore their hijab, smashed their alcohol containers, fasting for a month etc etc.

Subhanallah.

So sad to see Quran nowadays is a mere recitation or symbol, and the reciter still does things that against on what had been taught in Quran.

Half a loaf is better than none.

Do something for Allah's sake is way better that be an ignorant.

May Allah forgive us till hereafter and gives us strength to stay istiqamah.
